How many people has Bush called "a man of character and integrity"? Add one: Jerry Kilgore, who has been running for governor of Virginia almost exclusively on attack adds. Tangentially, to what kind of person does the word "character" mean "good repute"? To me, one would have to say "of good character" to have the meaning Bush intended to communicate.

dude, whatever, 'character' still sounds like something i would expect a fine cab sauv to have - along with oaky notes, a fruity nose, and a smoky finish redolent of black raspberry, tobacco, and leather.
or like if i took my priceless 17th century philadelphia clawfooted bridge table to the antiques road show, i would expect them to tell me that it had 'character'.
or if i went to otakuon with fuzzy ears and a chibi on my shoulder and thigh-high boots and a pink miniskirt cut up to my ass, i would expect to be called a 'character'.
